Papenhuyzen's Origin hopes spark surprise on the bench

New South Wales Blues head coach Laurie Daley announced that Ryan Papenhuyzen may be a potential selection for the interchange bench in Game 1 of this year's State of Origin series.

As reported by zerotackle.com, Papenhuyzen has shown impressive performance for the Melbourne Storm, particularly highlighted by his recent four-try feat in a remarkable 64-0 victory against the Wests Tigers.

While it appears that Dylan Edwards is set to keep the Blues' starting fullback position, with James Tedesco being a strong contender, Papenhuyzen's recent form makes a compelling case for his inclusion.

Daley remarked on Sky Sports Radio's Big Sports Breakfast that Papenhuyzen is a viable option for a utility role off the bench: "Yes.

Yeah he is someone who could play that role very well I think."

With his solid club performance, Papenhuyzen's potential selection adds depth and versatility to the Blues lineup as they prepare for the Origin series.
