Panthers' Trainer Under Unfair Media Scrutiny

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The Penrith Panthers are currently facing intense media scrutiny due to a controversial incident involving their trainer, Corey Brocker, who inadvertently walked in front of Jayden Campbell while he was preparing to take a kick during last weekend's game against the Gold Coast Titans.

Despite Brocker's immediate expression of remorse and apology, the incident left a significant impression on fans, leading to a wave of criticism directed at him. As a result, he was handed a five-game suspension as a form of punishment.

Panthers head coach Ivan Cleary addressed the situation, describing the response to Brocker's actions as "harsh and unfair."

"He's struggling. Has been right from the time it happened," Cleary stated during a media briefing on Wednesday. "He cares about his job and understands that he made a mistake and it's become a big deal."
