The Panthers secured a 42-28 victory over the Parramatta Eels at CommBank Stadium, solidifying their position in fourth place on The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup ladder.
Initially, the Panthers appeared in control, leading 30-4 at halftime and extending the advantage to 36-10 early in the second half.
However, the Eels mounted a significant comeback, scoring three quick tries to narrow the gap to 36-28 with time still on the clock.
Trent Toelau played a pivotal role in the match, providing three try assists, with his final assist helping secure the win for the Panthers just two minutes before full-time.
The game began with the Eels scoring early, as winger Jake Tago crossed for a try just six minutes in, putting them ahead 4-0.
The Panthers responded quickly; Billy Phillips scored after recovering a loose ball from a Toelau cross-field kick, giving Penrith a 6-4 lead.
The Panthers continued to build momentum, with another Toelau kick being collected by centre Sam Lane.
Lane broke through the line and set up debutant fullback Jack Attard, who scored and, with Paul Alamoti's conversion, extended the lead to 12-4.
The match showcased a dramatic clash, ultimately affirming the Panthers' resilience against the late surge from the Eels.
