Penrith Panthers utility Daine Laurie has been a reliable support player for the club, which has won four consecutive premierships, since returning in 2024.
Primarily taking the place of Dylan Edwards, Laurie has showcased his talent during his limited appearances on the field.
Despite his evident potential, he has struggled to secure a permanent position in the Panthers' NRL lineup, resulting in his current contract situation, which leaves him without a deal for 2026.
Rather than feeling discouraged by the uncertainty, Laurie remains optimistic about finding a new contract soon.
"I don't have a clue [what my future holds] ... I'm just going to take it day by day and hopefully something turns up in the background," Laurie shared with AAP.
While he is unclear about his path ahead, Laurie is firmly against pursuing a move to the Super League.
He believes he has matured since his previous stint away from the Panthers at the Wests Tigers in 2020 and feels he has a lot to contribute to any NRL team.
