The Penrith Panthers have secured a talented outside back from the Wests Tigers pathways system, bolstering their roster as they aim for sustained success in the future.
Thomas Goodfield, who has spent the last two seasons with the Western Suburbs Magpies in the Under-17s Harold Matthews Cup, is making a transition to the Penrith Panthers. He will be stepping into the Under-19s SG Ball Cup competition in 2026.
Versatile enough to play both on the wing and in the centres, Goodfield is regarded as one of the top outside back prospects within the Tigers' development program, having made an immediate impression after joining the team in 2024.
In 2022, he was selected for the Under-16s NSW City team and aims to carry his momentum into the upcoming season as he advances through the ranks of rugby league.
"My dad, who was a die-hard Parra fan, got me into playing footy, and it'd be mad and good for my family (to one day play in the NRL)," Goodfield shared with Zero Tackle earlier this year.
He added, "I've played this sport all the way up through the grades, but I'd just be over the moon about it if it does happen in the future. It would be so good (to play in the NRL)."
