After missing the Grand Final for the first time in six years, the Penrith Panthers have acted quickly to restore their squad's depth.

The Panthers have officially announced the signing of Jack Cogger, an experienced halfback, on a three-year deal that will keep him with the club until the conclusion of the 2028 NRL season.

At 28 years old, Cogger returns to the Panthers after two seasons with the Newcastle Knights, where he is expected to enhance the club's halves rotation with his experience.

Cogger had previously spent the 2023 season with Penrith, playing a crucial role in securing the club's historic third consecutive premiership. He stepped up significantly during Nathan Cleary's absence and made an impact off the bench during the Grand Final win against the Brisbane Broncos.

Shane Elford, the Panthers General Manager of Rugby League, expressed excitement about Cogger's return, highlighting both his skills and character.

"We're excited to have Jack return to the club," Elford said. "Not only does he bring valuable experience and depth in the halves, but he's also a terrific person who contributes strongly to the culture and standards we set at Panthers."
