The Penrith Panthers have made a significant announcement regarding the future of one of their promising stars, Casey McLean, as he has signed a long-term contract extension with the club.
This new agreement will see McLean remain a Panther until at least the end of the 2030 season, solidifying his status within the organization.
His extension comes alongside the existing contract, which was initially set to conclude at the end of 2028, reflecting the club's commitment to retaining emerging talent.
Starting his journey through the club's elite pathways, McLean burst onto the NRL scene when he debuted at just 18 years old.
In the same season, he showcased his skills on an international level, making his Test debut for the New Zealand Kiwis during the Pacific Championships and scoring an impressive four tries.
McLean has also had the honor of representing the NSW Blues in State of Origin, and he has earned a reputation as one of the competition's top centres, particularly excelling alongside Thomas Jenkins in 2026.
His talent was further cemented when he was called up to participate in Game 1 of the current State of Origin series, stepping in impressively after Tolutau Koula's injury, though he later missed Game 2 due to a quad issue during training.
Shane Elford, the Panthers' general manager, expressed his enthusiasm for McLean's contract renewal, highlighting the player's potential for continued growth within the team.
"Casey is an outstanding young player who has come through the pathways system and continued to develop at every level," Elford stated.
