The NRL preliminary final teams have been announced, with the Panthers potentially welcoming back Scott Sorensen for their clash against the Sharks.

Sorensen missed the previous game due to a hamstring injury, but after two weeks of recovery, he has been named on the extended bench and could make a comeback for the crucial showdown.

If Sorensen is cleared to play, he is likely to be promoted to the starting lineup, forcing Luke Garner to move to the bench and possibly leaving Matt Eisenhuth out of the squad.

The Panthers, aiming for their fifth consecutive grand final appearance, have the added motivation of playing for co-captain Isaah Yeo who is set to become the club's most-capped player, while Dylan Edwards will mark his 150th NRL game.

On the other hand, the Sharks have maintained their lineup from the previous week's victory over the Cowboys, with halfback Nicho Hynes reaching his milestone 100th game on Saturday.

In the other preliminary final, the Roosters and the Storm have stuck with their winning squads, with the Storm including speedy winger Sua Fa'alogo in the reserves after his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Overall, it's shaping up to be an exciting weekend of Rugby League action, with teams gearing up for the final battles before the grand final.

Fans can expect some thrilling encounters and nail-biting moments as the competition heats up.
