Panthers face penalty for interchange mix-up

The Penrith Panthers are facing possible sanctions from the NRL after briefly having 14 players on the field during their win against the Sydney Roosters.

The incident occurred when Scott Sorensen suffered an injury and appeared to be taken off the field, but no official interchange was made.

Izack Tago quickly entered the game but was replaced by Sorensen after a few seconds.

Tago, who had been demoted to the bench for the game, reportedly threw his interchange card to the ground in a rush to get back on the field.

The NRL is likely to take action against the Panthers for this interchange issue.
