Panthers eat humble pie, apologize to Warriors

Panthers issue apology to Warriors after 'classless' act in wake of finals victory

The Penrith Panthers have apologized to the Warriors and taken down social media posts that mocked their defeated opponents.

The Panthers secured a spot in the preliminary final after a dominant 32-6 victory over the Warriors.

However, their actions on social media have faced criticism following the win.

The team made several posts with the slogan 'Up the Pahs', which was a reference to the Warriors' rallying cry of 'Up the Wahs'.

Injured five-eighth Jarome Laui also shared the slogan on his Instagram story, while Stephen Crichton was photographed sticking his tongue out in the dressing room, possibly in reference to the New Zealand Haka.

After facing immense backlash from Warriors fans, the Panthers removed the posts and issued an apology.

Panthers CEO Matt Cameron spoke to the Warriors and expressed his apology on behalf of the club, acknowledging any offense caused by their post.

The post has since been taken down.
