The Penrith Panthers continue to assert that the incident involving a trainer running in front of a conversion against the Gold Coast Titans was accidental.

In response to this controversial incident, the NRL has imposed a substantial sanction, consisting of a $50,000 fine. This occurred when a Penrith trainer obstructed Jayden Campbell as he prepared to take a sideline conversion during the latter stages of the Titans' comeback.

The kick ultimately missed, allowing the Titans to maintain a narrow two-point lead.

However, Penrith's halfback Nathan Cleary managed to hit a critical two-point field goal, which led to a golden point scenario, ultimately guiding the Panthers to victory.

The NRL's breach notice to the Panthers outlines the proposed penalties, which include the $50,000 fine and a five-match suspension for the involved trainer.

"The NRL has issued Penrith Panthers with a breach notice relating to the actions of a Club trainer in Round 22," the NRL stated.
