In a twist that could shake up the Rugby League world, Cronulla Sharks forward Thomas Hazelton has reportedly received a whopping $1.3 million offer from a rival Sydney team, less than a year before his current contract expires.
Hazelton, a beloved figure among Sharks fans, has been on fire in recent seasons, earning a solid spot in the team and even notching up seven tries in 2024.
A late bloomer, his game has blossomed since joining the Top 30 squad in 2023 and proving himself as a reliable player in the NSW Cup.
Standing at an impressive 198 centimetres and weighing 116 kilograms, Hazelton has been a product of Cronulla's development program since 2017, working his way up from the club's pathways system.
After catching the eye of multiple teams and taking a tour of The Dolphins' facilities, Hazelton has been presented with a tempting $1.3 million three-year deal by the St George Illawarra Dragons, as reported by The Courier-Mail.
Will he stay loyal to the Sharks, or will he take the leap to a new team and potentially write a new chapter in his Rugby League story? Only time will tell.
