Former high school teammates Hudson Young and Max King are set to reunite on the field as they represent the Westpac NSW Blues in the State of Origin opener against the Maroons.
Their journey began in Maitland, where they attended All Saints College and played SG Ball for the Knights.
Although their paths diverged in the rugby league world, both players are now back together, with King making his State of Origin debut and Young earning a recall.
As interchange forwards, the two are eager to make an impact off the bench.
Young, who was dropped for the final two games of the previous series, experienced a bittersweet moment watching NSW secure the shield from his home in Canberra.
Determined to reclaim his place, he is focused on making up for lost time in the highly anticipated match at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night.
