Olam to undergo surgery

In a blow for the Wests Tigers, centre Justin Olam will be sidelined for the rest of the 2024 NRL season as he gears up for surgery on both knees.

The PNG international, who has made his mark in his debut season at the club with 13 appearances, was set to face a grade 3 dangerous tackle charge at the NRL judiciary, a battle now halted as he focuses on his upcoming operation.

Following a thorough medical assessment, Olam is scheduled for surgery this week, ruling him out of action for the remainder of the season.

The club, recognizing the gravity of the situation, has opted to plead 'no contest', resulting in a four-match suspension for the fierce competitor.

Though facing this setback, Olam remains determined to come back stronger and make his mark on the field once more.

The Wests Tigers will undoubtedly miss his tenacity and skills on the pitch during his absence, but they stand united in supporting his road to recovery.
