After five weeks on the sidelines, Justin Olam, the Storm centre, made a triumphant return to the NRL last round against the Broncos.
Olam's recent trip back home to PNG to visit his mother seemed to have reinvigorated him.
Following his return, Olam found himself faced with some home truths that hit hard, causing him to focus on improving his game.
Earlier injuries in the season had shaken Olam's confidence, leading coach Craig Bellamy to send him back to the Sunshine Coast Falcons to regain form.
However, instead of letting this setback discourage him, Olam worked tirelessly to better himself.
Despite his strong performance in the Storm's victory over the Broncos, Olam knows that there are no guarantees for him in the future.
Having come through the pathways in PNG, starting as a Lae Snax Tiger and progressing to play for the Hunters in Queensland's Cup competition, Olam has shown resilience and determination throughout his career.
