NZ Warriors face Tuaupiki exit speculation

Tuaupiki locked in until 2026

Tuaupiki made 16 tackle busts in the Warriors' semi-final defeat to the seventh-placed Newcastle Knights.

The 27-year-old has signed another extension, keeping him at the club through the end of the 2029 season.

It is his second extension in nine months: in February, he agreed to a two-year deal through 2028.

In September, the Warriors blocked a request linked to a secret clause that could have enabled him to move to Super League.

Tuaupiki joined in late 2022 on a train-and-trial deal and earned his place in the squad.

After playing just 25 NRL games in his first three seasons, he appeared in 22 of the Warriors' 26 matches this year and is expected to reach 50 games next season.

General manager Andrew McFadden praised his best season yet, saying, "Taine has come off a terrific season and proven yet again what an asset he is for the club,"

McFadden added, "He's been a great success story after initially joining us on a train and trial deal four years ago."

Coach Andrew Webster said, "Having Taine here for another three years is hugely exciting for us,"
