NSW coach Michael Maguire called a secret State of Origin meeting this week, but one key player was noticeably absent - Latrell Mitchell.

The meeting, as reported by The Daily Telegraph, involved current and potential NSW players, with Rabbitohs stars Mitchell, Cook, and Walker missing from the lineup.

As South Sydney faces challenges this season, it seems unlikely that they will have representatives in Maguire's Blues squad for the upcoming State of Origin series against Queensland.

Reports suggest that Maguire gathered a diverse group of players, including some new faces and unexpected choices, for the meeting at Blues HQ in Sydney.

While Blues captain James Tedesco and other senior players were present, the absence of certain positions like outside backs and forwards, excluding hookers, raised eyebrows.

With the series opener looming, the drama surrounding Mitchell's exclusion adds another layer of intrigue to the State of Origin showdown.
