NSW skipper Jake Trbojevic has brushed off suggestions from former Blues tough guy Mark Geyer to strip him of the captaincy for Game 2 in Melbourne.

Considered one of the rugby league's good guys, Trbojevic responded graciously to Geyer's criticism, despite a lackluster performance in the series opener against Queensland.

The Manly star had his game time cut short due to an early red card incident, which led Geyer to question his effectiveness on the field.

Despite the calls for changes in the Blues lineup, Trbojevic will lead the team once again at the MCG, showing his determination to prove his critics wrong.

With the backing of coach Michael Maguire and his fellow players, Trbojevic remains focused on giving his all for the team.

In typical Aussie sporting fashion, Trbojevic brushed off the criticism, stating that he will continue to give his best effort no matter what the outsiders say.

The skipper's resilience and commitment to the team have earned him the respect of his peers and the coaching staff.
