Latrell Mitchell, the Rabbitohs star, has been given the green light to re-enter the State of Origin arena, with reports suggesting his exile is officially over.
According to news.com.au, Mitchell is on the brink of a comeback to the NSW Blues squad for Game 2.
News Corp was the first to report that Blues coach Michael Maguire will include Mitchell in the squad when he unveils his team on Sunday night.
Mitchell was snubbed for the series opener against Queensland, but with Joseph Sua'ali'i serving a suspension, the door has swung open for Mitchell to make his return to Origin footy for the first time since 2021.
Mitchell will slot back into his familiar left centre position for the Blues, while Bulldogs' star Stephen Crichton is expected to hold down the center spot on the right edge.
Maguire is anticipated to make several changes for Game 2, set to take place on June 26th at the MCG.
With Mitchell back in the mix, the Blues will undoubtedly be hoping for a boost in their attacking prowess and defensive resolve as they look to level the series against the Maroons.
Get ready for some fireworks and intense battles on the field as the Blues aim to reclaim their dominance in this fierce rivalry.
