NRLW coaches hail Invitational as clubs sign emerging stars
A number of players have already been signed, with more expected to follow, as NRLW coaches praised the quality of the Harvey Norman Rising Talent Invitational in Newcastle.
The three-day event, held before the inaugural NRLW Magic Round, featured 60 players from various pathway programs across Australia, including talents from Combined Affiliated States, First Nations Gems, as well as those from Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
The event also welcomed cross-code athletes and individuals who had previously participated in NRLW systems but had stepped away due to injuries or personal reasons, such as childbirth, who are now looking for another opportunity.
With many NRLW teams facing significant injury setbacks, the timing of the Invitational was perfect, allowing club representatives to observe players as they underwent position-specific assessments and participated in a series of matches.
