The NRL's successful venture in Las Vegas has inspired an unprecedented U18s tour from the USA to New Zealand.

This tour, set to take place in late June, will feature a team of promising young players who have already shown their potential in international competitions.

The USA team will participate in three matches against local opposition and engage in coaching clinics and referees' courses during their time in New Zealand.

Plans are also in place for the team to meet with the Warriors, further enhancing their rugby league experience.

The driving force behind this tour is Vake Paea, the founder and coach of West Side Pitbullz, a rugby league club based in Utah.

The club was established following the NRL's decision to play premiership matches at Allegiant Stadium in 2024.

Paea has teamed up with Ellerslie Eagles director of coaching development Todd Price to organize this groundbreaking tour, with support from the Auckland Rugby League, New Zealand Rugby League, and the Warriors.

Paea emphasized the importance of building on the momentum created by the NRL's efforts in Las Vegas, stating, "We want to build off what the NRL has done." By bringing talented young players from the USA to New Zealand, Paea hopes to create more opportunities for growth and development within the sport.

This tour will not only provide valuable experience for the players but also strengthen the bonds between rugby league communities in both countries.

The NRL's influence has extended beyond the field, inspiring initiatives like this USA U18s tour to New Zealand.

As the sport continues to expand its reach internationally, collaborations like these play a crucial role in fostering talent and growing the game.

With the support of key stakeholders and a strong vision for the future, rugby league is poised for continued success on a global scale.
