NRL's Promotional Tour Fumbles: Vegas Extravaganza Turns Rugby Union

NRL under fire over 'ludicrous' mistake in promotional tour for games in Las Vegas

The NRL has found itself in hot water after a 'ludicrous' mistake during its promotional tour for the upcoming games in Las Vegas.

Officials were criticized for sending Sydney Roosters recruit Spencer Leniu to a rugby union club instead of promoting rugby league.

Leniu, along with NRL stars Campbell Graham, Billy Walters, and Aaron Woods, were supposed to be ambassadors for the game during their trip to the US.

However, Leniu attended a clinic at a local high school in Park City, Utah, only to discover that it was the home of the Brighton Bengals rugby union club.

This blunder has led to frustration and disappointment among rugby league enthusiasts in America, with many expressing their disapproval on social media.

The Utah Rugby League Association (URLA) even hinted at withdrawing their entries for the exhibition tournament in Las Vegas, citing the NRL's missed opportunity and lack of support for the local rugby league community.

This controversy is a setback for the NRL's efforts to expand the game internationally and grow its presence in the US market.

It remains to be seen how the NRL will address the issue and whether it can salvage its plans for the Las Vegas games.
