Rabbitohs Urge NRL to Address Roosters' Scoreboard Incident

South Sydney CEO Blake Solly has voiced his concerns that the NRL may be showing favoritism towards the Sydney Roosters regarding a recent scoreboard mishap where the Rabbitohs were identified solely as the "visiting team."

The Rabbitohs fear their grievances will be ignored, as the NRL seems poised to remain neutral amid the ongoing rivalry's antics.

On Monday, the Roosters publicly apologized for the oversight of not displaying the Rabbitohs' name on the big screen at Allianz Stadium during their Friday night match, asserting it was done in "the spirit of the rivalry."

The Tricolours added they were also referred to as "visitors" during Sunday's NSW Cup game at Redfern Oval against Souths.

This incident has irked Rabbitohs officials, especially amid the ongoing contention over Allianz Stadium and Souths' push to return there.

Souths representatives contend that labeling them as the "visiting team" violates the NRL's operations manual, which requires both teams' names to appear on scoreboards.

When asked if the Rabbitohs had lodged a formal complaint with the NRL, Solly expressed skepticism about the need for such actions.

"I'm not sure why we have to make a formal complaint," Solly said.

"Clubs who breach the operations manual are routinely warned and fined without a complaint from the other club. For example, late kick-offs or taking too long to convert after a try."
