'Cost them the game': NRL world unloads as Nicho Hynes misses 'absolute sitter'

Playing in the NRL can be a tough gig, especially when you're out of form as Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes is finding out the hard way.

It's been a rough patch for Hynes, as the rugby league gods seem to be giving him a rough trot.

The Cronulla Sharks halfback copped another beating after missing a field goal from practically point-blank range in golden point.

To add insult to injury, he could only watch in despair as Matt Burton's third crack at a field goal snuck in off the post from nearly twice the distance, sealing a 15-14 golden point win for the Bulldogs.

Hynes hit the deck in disbelief as the fans showered him with criticism.

Despite running the ball 13 times for a solid 85 meters, Hynes had a relatively quiet game, failing to set up any tries or create any line breaks.

But as they say in rugby league, when it rains, it pours, and right now it's pouring on poor old Nicho Hynes.
