Former NRL player Lloyd Perrett is taking legal action against his previous team, the Manly Sea Eagles, after suffering permanent injuries from a heat stroke incident during a 2017 pre-season training session.

During the training, Perrett reportedly collapsed and experienced a seizure due to a lack of hydration. He has no memory of the event following his collapse until he woke up in the hospital.

On Monday, a claim was filed in the NSW Supreme Court on Perrett's behalf by Brisbane-based legal firm Carter Capner Law.

The law firm contends that the enduring consequences of the injuries have severely affected Perrett's career, estimating potential damages to reach "well into the millions of dollars."

At the pre-season training session in November 2017, held at the Narrabeen Sports Complex near Sydney, Perrett was one of around 30 individuals present. It is alleged that during this session, he was not provided any water, with Dan Ferris, the club's performance coach, reportedly stating there would be no water breaks, despite the "very warm conditions."
