The Sharks have rallied together for the Women in League Round, uniting the NRL and NRLW squads to pay tribute to the invaluable women in their lives and to inspire the next generation of female athletes.
In a heartwarming display of solidarity, female Sharks administration staff were treated to a special event where Bridget Bradhust, the Head of Advocacy and Support at Ovarian Cancer Australia, delivered an enlightening talk to raise awareness about the disease.
As the inaugural charity partner of Women in League Round, Ovarian Cancer Australia will benefit from a generous donation of $1000 for every goal kicked at select games, including the upcoming Sharks-Souths clash.
The rugby league community, along with the support of Harvey Norman, is stepping up to support this important cause.
In a touching gesture, the staff surprised the NRLW squad with meaningful gifts before their training session, expressing their gratitude for the groundbreaking contributions these trailblazing women have made to the club and the sport.
The celebration of the remarkable women involved in rugby league will continue at the Sharks' home game on Saturday night, with a series of initiatives planned, including the symbolic change of a purple dot replacing the usual black dot in the middle of the crossbar.
As the Sharks band together for Women in League Round, they are not only honoring the past and present female figures in the game, but they are also paving the way for a future generation of fierce and empowered athletes to follow in their footsteps.
