The NRL has confirmed the artist for this weekend's Grand Final amid ongoing health concerns regarding Teddy Swims.
The American country singer raised apprehensions within the rugby league community after canceling two performances in Hawaii, as his doctor had not cleared him to sing. This situation led to speculation that the NRL was exploring alternative arrangements if Swims had to withdraw.
With just three days remaining before Grand Final day, the NRL has finally made a definitive announcement.
Glenn Jackson, the General Manager of Media and Communications for the NRL, was questioned by nine.com.au about Swims' performance status.
"Absolutely," Jackson affirmed to the publication. "We've been saying for days he's coming."
Swims is set to perform for both the NRL Grand Final and the NRLW Grand Final, which takes place just hours earlier. This scheduling has left many fans skeptical about whether Swims' Grammy-nominated voice will be able to sustain two performances within a single day.
