The NRL has once again found itself mired in an obstruction controversy, leaving spectators and fans alike shaking their heads in disbelief after a questionable decision cost the Roosters a sure-fire try.

The Panthers managed to squeak out a 22-16 victory, holding off a determined Roosters side who made a fierce comeback with two tries in the final six minutes.

Despite the absence of star player Nathan Cleary, the Panthers stormed out to a 12-0 lead within the first 16 minutes, leaving the Roosters playing catch-up.

The Roosters, however, capitalized on a crusher penalty to advance into the Panthers' 20m zone, swiftly moving the ball out to Joseph Manu who bulldozed his way over the try line.

But it was the controversial obstruction calls that left a bitter taste in the Roosters' mouths, as one call disallowed a crucial try in the first half, with another leading to a Panthers try early in the second.

The NRL's persistent struggle with obstruction rulings is sure to keep the debate raging on for another week, as the game continues to grapple with consistency in its officiating.

In the end, the Panthers stood tall in the face of adversity, showcasing their resilience and determination to come out on top.

The Roosters, on the other hand, will be left to lick their wounds and regroup before their next challenge on the rugby league battlefield.
