NRL Halfback Poised for European Move

The Super League has attracted numerous NRL talents to Europe in 2025, as the Australian competition remains saturated with skilled players.

The Castleford Tigers, who have already secured NRL talents like Blake Taaffe and Semi Valemei for the 2026 season, are now eyeing another Aussie player.

Unwanted Gold Coast Titans halfback, Thomas Weaver, has emerged as the top choice for the Tigers' halfback position for next season, according to All Out Rugby League. However, Weaver's move hinges on the availability of a roster spot.

Having been released by the Titans at the end of the season and with no NRL contract in sight for 2026, the Tigers present Weaver with a significant opportunity to continue his professional rugby league journey.

Nevertheless, the 22-year-old faces challenges, as the Tigers have already signed ten overseas players for the upcoming year and are struggling to accommodate him.

Among the new signings are Renouf Atoni, Brock Greacan, and Mikaele Ravalawa.

The Tigers are reportedly in discussions to create space on their roster to facilitate Weaver's arrival and are hopeful of offloading one of their current players before the year's end.
