Loyal fans dudded by NRL amid embarrassing farce for Panthers and Storm clash

Loyal fans of the NRL are feeling aggrieved after purchasing tickets for Friday night's preliminary final, only to discover that supporters who didn't buy early are being offered free entry.

The NRL's move is an attempt to fill Accor Stadium, which is expected to have a disappointingly low turn-out.

In a desperate bid to sell more tickets, the NRL released a range of cut-price giveaways and deals.

This has left loyal fans who paid full price early in the week at a disadvantage, with some losing out on $200 or more.

Penrith coach Ivan Cleary cheekily urged supporters of other Sydney clubs to get behind his team, as they aim to become the first side in the NRL era to win three straight titles.

Cleary has seen the positive changes success has brought to the area over the past decade.
