NRL cult hero Willie Mason has taken a shot at the AFL, declaring the Grand Final as the 'worst ever' and vowing never to return to the MCG after witnessing the Lions demolish the Swans in the 2024 season decider.

Mason, known for his flamethrowing antics on and off the field, expressed his sympathy for AFL fans and criticized the lackluster atmosphere at the Grand Final.

The footy commentators in Sydney have also been scathing, with some even calling for player trades despite the Swans finishing on top of the ladder.

In true Mason fashion, he didn't hold back, describing the day as leaving him "bored s***less".

Former Brisbane Lions players Mitch Robinson and Rhys Mathieson, however, had a different perspective, with Mathieson praising the electric atmosphere from inside the venue as a die-hard Lions supporter.

It's a classic case of NRL vs AFL rivalry, with Mason delivering a knockout blow to the AFL as he stands by his decision to steer clear of the Grand Final spectacle.

In the words of the legendary Rugby League commentator Ray 'Rabs' Warren, this showdown is shaping up to be a real 'clash of the titans'.
