NRL Considers Key Judiciary Changes Post-Season

NRL eye crucial judiciary change in post-season review

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

The NRL is set to initiate a comprehensive review of its judiciary process at the end of the season. CEO Andrew Abdo has proposed that players should have the option to appeal their bans without the concern of incurring additional penalties.

Nicho Hynes was recently cleared to compete in Cronulla's elimination final against the Sydney Roosters, as the league's head office reduced the charge against him for a hip-drop tackle.

This adjustment followed the news that Canterbury winger Marcelo Montoya was not seriously injured, alleviating earlier worries that his season might be over due to a significant syndesmosis rupture.

The NRL's decision helped Cronulla avoid a challenging dilemma just prior to the finals.
