Sharks tough guy Briton Nikora has been handed a two-match ban after copping to a Grade 2 careless high tackle on Bulldogs' Viliame Kikau in a fiery showdown on Friday night.
Nikora's hefty hit landed him a stint in the sin bin during the first half of the match, which ended in a solid 25-6 victory for the Sharks at PointsBet Stadium.
In a bold move, Nikora decided to accept his punishment early, sparing himself an even longer time on the sidelines.
This wasn't his first rodeo, and due to a previous offense, Nikora was staring down the barrel of a three-game suspension if he chose to contest the charge.
As a result, the 26-year-old bruiser will be forced to sit out the upcoming battle against the Wests Tigers at the iconic Leichhardt Oval, as well as the Round 4 showdown against the Raiders on Easter Sunday.
It's a tough blow for Nikora and the Sharks, but they'll have to knuckle down and push through without their star back-rower.
