Newcastle's Johns Fuels Grand Final Debate

Billy Slater and Andrew Johns.

Andrew Johns was seen in tears in the commentary box last weekend after the Knights stunned the Panthers in their preliminary final.

The grand final broadcast line-up has divided NRL fans, with some questioning whether Gould should feature in the men's call.

Others argued Brenton Speed deserved the men's grand final, while some wondered if Johns should avoid calling a match involving his beloved Knights.

One social media user wrote: "Crazy that Joey has to work, should get the night off so he can watch with the Knights old boys."

Another said: "Brenton Speed is the best in the business." A third asked: "Couldn't give Johns the night off to enjoy the night?"

Mat Thompson will lead the men's NRL grand final call, with Johns and Billy Slater alongside him. Brad Fittler and Danika Mason will report from the sideline.

For the NRLW decider between the Broncos and Roosters, Brenton Speed will call, with Ruan Sims and Allana Ferguson providing special comments. Johnathan Thurston and Marlee Silva will be on the sideline.

Triple M's men's call will be led by Dan Ginnane, alongside special comments from James Graham, Ben Dobbin and Ryan Girdler.

Anthony Maroon will call the NRLW final for Triple M with Aaron Woods, David Riccio and Emma Verran.

SEN's men's team is Jimmy Smith, Justin Horo and Chad Townsend. James Preston, Brett Kimmorley and Mary Konstantopoulos will call the women's game.
