Connor Watson's availability for Sunday's NRL premiership decider remains uncertain after he failed a head-injury assessment last Friday night.
The Roosters player is due to see an independent neurologist on Thursday in the hope of being cleared to play Newcastle.
Newcastle have named Phoenix Crossland despite his guilty plea over a hip-drop tackle on Nathan Cleary. He faces the judiciary tonight to learn his possible suspension.
Crossland's status leaves the Roosters weighing up their hooker options, with Harrison Graham the likely replacement and Thomas Cant another possibility.
