The Newcastle Knights are preparing for a significant retention achievement as they aim to build a competitive team in the Hunter region.
Following speculation regarding a potential move to another club, The Daily Telegraph has reported that Tyson Frizell is set to extend his tenure in Newcastle with a forthcoming one-year contract.
As he approaches his 17th NRL season, the 33-year-old Frizell has proven to be one of the Knights' most reliable players.
Although he has moved past his days representing the NSW Blues, the seasoned back-rower has solidified his position as a key player in the Knights' lineup, reflecting the impressive longevity shown by veteran forward Josh Papali'i.
Initially, it seemed that Frizell would be retiring at the conclusion of this season; however, Sports Confidential has now revealed that he will continue playing until 2026.
