EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle Knights have secured a new assistant coach following Justin Holbrook's recent appointment as the head coach.
Hales, who was once considered a strong candidate to replace Des Hasler at the Sea Eagles, enjoys a solid reputation in rugby league. His background includes teaching at the distinguished Westfield Sports High School and serving as the head coach of the club's NSW Cup feeder team.
He also has experience with the Parramatta Eels, where he coached both the Under-20 NYC team and the NSW Cup feeder team, the Wentworthville Magpies.
CEO Peter Parr commented in a recent interview with The Newcastle Herald, "Whenever there is a new coach, there is usually change. We have one change; if there are others, we will work that out as we go."
