New Zealand's 2026 RLWC Squad Preview

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The 2026 Rugby League World Cup (RLWC) is approaching, with less than a year remaining, and all nations are eager to unseat Australia as champions.

New Zealand, the last team to triumph over Australia in a RLWC Final, poses a significant challenge to the Kangaroos. They enter this tournament after a successful run, crowned in the 2025 Pacific Championships.

Featuring a strong halves combination of Dylan Brown from the Newcastle Knights and Dally M Medallist Jahrome Hughes of the Melbourne Storm, the Kiwis are equipped with a formidable forward pack.

This squad will differ from the one that participated in the 2022 RLWC, as only 11 out of the 24 players are expected to return for the 2026 edition.
