Jye Linnane, a promising young playmaker from the Newcastle Knights, has decided to sign with the New Zealand Warriors after suffering an ACL injury in January.

Linnane, who comes from a strong rugby league lineage with his uncle Steve Linnane having played over a hundred games for the Knights and Dragons, was considered one of the most talented players in the Knights' system.

He had earned a development contract for this year but unfortunately got sidelined by the injury.

Despite his setback, Linnane had been training with the Knights' first-grade squad during the pre-season and had also represented the U18s NSW Country side in 2023 alongside other emerging talents.

Now, he is focused on his recovery and has signed a three-year contract with the New Zealand Warriors until the end of the 2028 NRL season.

Andrew McFadden, the general manager of recruitment, pathways, and development for the New Zealand Warriors, expressed his excitement about welcoming Linnane to the club.

He described the young player as an "exceptional talent and a terrific young man," indicating that Linnane's potential was highly valued by his new team.

The move to the Warriors presents a fresh start for Linnane, who will have the opportunity to continue his development and make his mark in the NRL once he fully recovers from his injury.

It is a significant step in his career, and he will undoubtedly be looking to repay the faith shown in him by his new team.

In summary, Jye Linnane's decision to sign with the New Zealand Warriors comes after a promising start at the Newcastle Knights was interrupted by an ACL injury.

With his talent and determination, he is poised to make a strong comeback and contribute positively to his new team in the coming seasons.
