Westpac NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley has drawn a strong comparison between Queensland's new halves pairing of Tom Dearden and Cameron Munster to the legendary duo of Allan Langer and Wally Lewis.

Dearden is set to make his debut as Queensland's No.

7 in Origin II at Perth's Optus Oval on June 18, having replaced veteran halfback Daly Cherry-Evans.

Munster will also take on the role of Maroons captain.

Despite some surprise in the NSW camp regarding the decision by Queensland coach Billy Slater to drop Cherry-Evans, Daley expressed his admiration for Dearden, stating, "I'm Dearden's No.1 fan."
