A fresh batch of Kangaroos are set to hit the field on Friday night, with Mitch Moses and Tom Dearden taking the reins in the halves against a Tongan team ready for a fight.

It's a new chapter for the national team, as Coach Mal Meninga makes some bold selections for the Pacific Championships opener at Suncorp Stadium.

The Kangaroos will see six new faces in the squad, including Dylan Edwards who steps up as fullback in place of the absent James Tedesco.

Isaah Yeo, the Panthers co-captain, will lead the team and bring his winning mentality to the international stage.

After a tough loss to New Zealand last year, Yeo is determined to lift the team to victory.

"This is a chance for redemption," Yeo declared.

"We know the expectations that come with wearing this jersey, and we're ready to rise to the challenge.

It won't be easy, but we're prepared to fight for every inch on the field."

As the Kangaroos gear up for battle, fans can expect a display of grit and determination from this new-look team.

With Moses and Dearden calling the shots and Yeo leading from the front, the Kangaroos are ready to show they're a force to be reckoned with in the world of Rugby League.
