In the race for the signature of NSW Blues and Parramatta Eels front-rower Reagan Campbell-Gillard, a clear frontrunner has emerged as his departure from the Western Sydney club looms closer.
According to reports from zerotackle.com, the Eels are preparing for next season under the guidance of Jason Ryles, who is set to take over from interim coach Trent Barrett.
Ryles, aiming to lead the Eels back to the finals for the first time since 2022, when they faced off against the Penrith Panthers in the Grand Final, is now looking to rebuild the roster.
Despite being under contract until the end of the 2025 NRL season, Campbell-Gillard has reportedly been given the green light to leave the Eels at the conclusion of the current season.
This move would not only free up valuable salary cap space for the Eels, but also allow Campbell-Gillard to explore new opportunities.
As a NSW Blues representative on a substantial $750,000 per season deal, Campbell-Gillard has caught the eye of the North Queensland Cowboys and St George Illawarra Dragons.
Now, another team has entered the fray, adding to the competition for his signature.
