Brisbane is anxiously awaiting the outcome regarding charges against lock Pat Carrigan and star fullback Reece Walsh, both of whom were sin-binned during a thrilling qualifying final against Canberra, which the Broncos won 29-28 in golden point.

Carrigan received a sin-bin in the 56th minute and was placed on report for a dangerous tackle on Morgan Smithies, resulting in a category-two HIA for the Raiders player, which he later passed.

Walsh, on the other hand, was penalized just three minutes earlier for leading with his head into a tackle against Hudson Young, who had previously provoked him. Both players found themselves in the sin-bin as a result.

Despite being jeered by Canberra supporters, Walsh responded by blowing kisses and waving his middle finger towards them.

Walsh's absence momentarily hurt the Broncos, allowing the Raiders to extend their lead to 28-12 with two quick tries.

Upon his return, Walsh turned the game around dramatically, scoring a try, assisting winger Josiah Karapani's score, executing a critical 40/20 kick, and adding an 80th-minute penalty goal that sent the match into extra time. Ultimately, Ben Hunt sealed the win with a remarkable field goal in golden point.

"I was disappointed in myself. I am glad the chocolates went my way," Walsh remarked to Fox League after the match when discussing his sin-binning.
