Mark Nawaqanitawase has indicated that he might continue to switch codes throughout his successful rugby career. After a victory at Wembley, he was asked if he envisions a return to league after the home Rugby World Cup at the end of 2027. The NRL's current leading try scorer said, "It's so far away, I don't know - but it could be on the cards ... it's definitely on the cards."

This possibility seems to stem from his enjoyment of an outstanding debut NRL season, where he scored 24 tries in 23 games. "A hundred per cent," Nawaqanitawase affirmed when asked if his experience influenced this outlook. "Especially at the Roosters where I am, it's been amazing. So it's definitely on the cards."

When pressed about his long-term plans, the easygoing 25-year-old joked with reporters, saying, "It's a long way away - so just relax."

Regardless of which rugby format he participates in-be it league, union, or Olympic sevens-it's evident that Nawaqanitawase will bring his exceptional talent wherever he plays. While Reece Walsh captured attention with a two-try, man-of-the-match performance, Nawaqanitawase played a crucial role as well, setting up the first Ashes score in 22 years for Walsh.
