Nathan Cleary's knee injury has come under scrutiny after it was revealed that he was still wearing a brace four weeks after the NRL grand final.
Despite suffering the injury in the opening minutes of the decider, Cleary played through the pain and led the Panthers to victory, masterminding the biggest comeback in NRL grand final history.
However, questions have been raised about the severity of his injury, especially after he was seen wearing the brace in photos with his new girlfriend Mary Fowler.
Brien Seeney, a sports physiotherapist, suggested that Cleary may have suffered a moderate to high-grade PCL tear, which would make his grand final performance even more remarkable.
"For him to do what he did, in particularly in the last half an hour, but just to play out the whole game with that injury and to perform like he did," said Seeney in a video posted to social media this week.
Despite Cleary and the Panthers downplaying the injury, the fact that he's only just gotten out of the knee brace raises doubts about the true extent of his knee problem.
