'This might be a silver lining': Nathan Cleary could make an early comeback from hamstring injury

In a twist of fate, it seems Nathan Cleary may not be sidelined for as long as first feared after suffering a hamstring injury during the Panthers' recent clash with Brisbane.

The star halfback could potentially make a return as soon as next week, much to the relief of fans and teammates alike.

Cleary, who was forced off the field with a right hamstring strain, had previously endured a more serious hamstring injury on his opposite leg last year, causing him to miss the final two State of Origin matches.

Thankfully, this latest setback is not as severe, with coach Ivan Cleary suggesting it could even help Nathan recover from a lingering foot injury.

As the Panthers prepare to take on the Roosters on Thursday, there is hope that Nathan may be back in action against Manly in the following week or after the round 6 bye.

Ivan Cleary remained optimistic about the situation, acknowledging the ups and downs that come with injuries in the sport.

"Injuries are just part of the game, mate.

Nathan seems to have a little holiday every year, so this setback might actually be a blessing in disguise.

It's an opportunity for other players to step up and show what they can do.

Thankfully, it's not too serious this time around, so that's a bit of a relief.

He had a similar feeling last year before things took a turn for the worse."

With the potential return of their star halfback on the horizon, the Panthers will be looking to maintain their momentum on the field and continue their impressive form in the competition.

It's a waiting game now to see if Nathan Cleary can rise to the occasion once again and lead his team to victory.
