Murray's injury has thrown a spanner in the works for the 2025 NRL season, with the South Sydney skipper sustaining a wrist injury during training ahead of the Kangaroos' showdown with New Zealand in the Pacific Championships.

Despite the setback, Murray showed true Aussie grit by toughing it out on the field, refusing to let the injury hold him back.

With his left wrist strapped, he put in a stellar performance, racking up an impressive 50 tackles in Australia's 22-10 victory over New Zealand.

But the post-game scans told a different story, revealing a nasty scapholunate injury that will require surgery.

As a result, Murray may be sidelined for the start of the NRL season as he embarks on his road to recovery.
