Maroons coach Billy Slater is confident that the return of captain Cameron Munster, following the passing of his father, Steven, will serve as a motivational force for the team in the upcoming Origin decider at Accor Stadium.
Reports from nrl.com.au indicate that Munster rejoined the Queensland camp in Sydney on Tuesday after quickly traveling to Rockhampton to support his mother, Debbie, and sister, Danielle.
Despite the personal tragedy, Slater noted that Munster never considered missing the crucial opportunity to lead the Maroons to a historic series win.
"That's all it is right now is an opportunity," Slater stated, emphasizing the team's focus on preparation.
He added that both players and coaching staff are intent on reaching peak physical and mental condition by 8pm on Wednesday.
The coach expressed certainty that Munster's father, a respected figure in the Rockhampton sporting community and a representative of Australian indoor cricket, would have wanted him to participate in the match.
