Munster tackles media after thrilling Origin fight

Queensland's new captain, Cameron Munster, has criticized the media for targeting state coach Billy Slater following Queensland's struggles in the State of Origin series.

Slater has faced intense scrutiny since Game 1, where Queensland suffered a significant defeat against the New South Wales Blues, marking their second consecutive loss in Brisbane-a historic low for the team.

The situation escalated after Daly Cherry-Evans was dropped despite leading the team in Game 1.

Munster expressed that the media's "jabs" at Slater have only fueled the team's determination to execute their game plan effectively in Game 2, held in Perth.

He emphasized his support for Slater, whom he considers a close friend, stating that the pressure on the coach motivated him and his teammates to perform better.

The ongoing media speculation has heightened scrutiny on the Queensland squad as they navigate the challenges of the series.
