Queensland Maroons captain Cameron Munster has shed light on his halftime interaction with referee Ashley Klein during the critical match of the 2026 State of Origin series.
The seasoned official, in his 23rd Origin, has been a focal point in the media this series, and Munster kept that trend alive by addressing Klein after a frustrating first half that saw the Maroons trailing by 14 points.
"We haven't got the rub of the green; I know they're 50/50s."
Klein promptly responded to Munster, indicating that it was a matter of perspective.
Post-game, Munster explained that he was seeking clarification on certain aspects of the game.
"I just had some questions around certain things that were getting around the game," Munster noted when discussing his halftime dialogue.
"At the end of the day, we didn't ice the moments. It was a bit of frustration, probably from myself just asking Ash some questions, but he saw them a little bit differently to myself, and he adjudicates the game the way he sees it, and that's how he saw it."
The atmosphere for the Maroons didn't improve in the second half, especially when Jack Bostock seemingly knocked on before Bradman Best sprinted nearly 100 meters to score at the opposite end.
